More bowling?

Now, I know this is going to seem like all we do is go bowling....well we have been going frequently lately....but it always ends up being such a good time!
This time we went because we originally had plans to go watch jai alai, but unbeknownst to us, they don't play night games anymore, so we were forced to find other sources of entertainment!
This time it was Ian, Heather, Austin, Viktor, Roxy, Mark, Paul and Rolo!
Our glow in the dark bowling shoes!
Paul has his game face on!
Me and Rolo....again!
As you can see from the score board....I blew the competition away with a huge score of 128!!!
Posing with the pins!
Now I know that the video is sideways (my apologies), but it was just too funny to not post!!!  Here's Mark doing his version of disco bowling!!!

Strikers Football

Got a group together to watch a football (that's actually soccer) match between the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and the Puerto Rico Islanders. (photos courtesy of Michelle!!!)
Even though there is a large latin culture here in South Florida, there isn't a large football following and there isn't even an MLS team here.  But, there is a NASL that plays up in Ft. Lauderdale.
Paul and Lisa do a little tailgating before the game.
Michelle and Claus joined in the fun...Claus introduced me to the football club last year.
As always, we can't seem to take serious photos!
Poor Rolo was outnumbered....too many Americans and not enough Puerto Ricans....
Paul and I got our hair decorated to show our team spirit!  Strikers win!!!

Memorial Day Croquet Party

On Memorial Day this year, Julian and Krystal hosted their second annual Croquizzle party.  The theme was a garden party with white clothes, big hats and pink lawn flamingos...it was awesome!  (all photos courtesy of Michelle and Krystal)
The ladies looking fierce by the mango tree!
Yet, we go from fierce to just a little crazy!
Me and Michelle
The game is starting!
Striking a croquizzle pose!
There was also badminton on the front lawn.
I had to take a short rest break and be the line judge.
Claus in his Mick Dundee hat.....looking fabulous!
And Taj got to eat all of the pink lawn flamingos....fun was had by all!

4th of July, 2011

I spent the July 4th weekend up in Hobe Sound with Claus and Michelle.  They had a great "dog days of summer" bbq with lots of tasty hot dog variations!
Got to meet some new friends and also catch up with some old friends!
Krystal (FAU), Jack and Lisa (from Key Largo), Erik (from Caracas) and me!
Brent, Nicky, Lyla and the boys came too!  Brent snatched a turtle out of the pond!
Maureen, Michelle and Joanne- remember them from Thanksgiving last year and the Danish luncheon the year before?
Claus and his dad, Tyge.
We had so much fun bowling for my birthday that we decided to go after a nice day on the beach and burgers at Scooter's!  This place had nothing on Sunset bowl, but it had a nice down home country bowling atmosphere!
Claus, Michelle and I
Me doing my best Elly May impression!
Krystal and Julian share a bucket of bud!
The next day (which was actually July 4th), we grilled a nice big lunch and then headed down to West Palm Beach to have delicious tacos and margaritas at Rocco's Tacos.
And of course, we watched the fireworks...one of my favorite things of all time!

Birthday Bowling

This year, we all went bowling for my birthday!
Lisa, Paul, Travis and Kelly have a pre-game beverage while everyone got their shoes!
Michelle and Claus drove down for the festivities (I love the fact they we live close enough to do that!)
Lisa looks hungry- this place had a great menu!
Paul shows off his Guinness socks and flip flops!
The "B" team get ready to play.
The "A" team is ready to battle!
Claus and Michelle.
Ian and Rolo
Look at how many different balls we needed....why can't our fingers all be the same size?
Michelle and I enjoy some white Russians....in honor of the dude!
Peter and Kelly have a sit-down dance off...or the rapture did actually happen!
My bowling form!
Ohio players represent!  Ian, Michelle and I all broke 100!
It started getting a little crazy!
Peter, Ben, Lisa and me!
We headed over to an Irish pub for a little bit after we exhausted ourselves playing.  Jonas, Laura and Peter have an Olan Mills moment!
The dudes...
Um.....
Never been to an Irish pub that played hip hop before.  Rolo and Ian do a little fist pumping!
Ian shows off his new do....
...and Rolo is jealous!
Thanks to everyone for making my birthday week great!!!
