More UM football

UM football hosted an Employee Day during Homecoming, so we rounded up the gang and headed out to the game to take advantage of the free tickets!!  Claus and Michelle came down for the festivities and we tailgated prior to and after the game.
The fans in front of us had this great Sebastian the Ibis hat and they let us take pictures wearing it!  Don't I look good showing my UM pride??
Peter is a UM alumnus and a true UM fan (he buys season tickets every year), so he had to get in on the Ibis hat action!! The game was a lot of fun and UM beat Duke 49-14!!  It's all about the "U"!

New Stadium Tour

Take me out to the ball game.....The Florida Marlins, soon to be the Miami Marlins, are getting a new stadium near downtown Miami complete with a new logo and public transit direct to the stadium.  Prior to opening day, they allowed VIP tours of the stadium while it's still under construction.
I like the new logo, but I'm not sure how I feel about the new colors....very 80's chic.....?
After every serious photo....there has to be a silly one!!
I was super excited to get to wear a hard hat!!  I'm posing here next to the "M"....there are letters surrounding the stadium that spell Miami Marlins.
Here's the view from left field... the field feels pretty narrow to me with only 8 ft of foul territory on each side of the field.  The stadium has a retractable roof and a home run feature...google that for a great laugh!!
You can't see it in the photo, but the entire outfield wall of the stadium is glass that can retract giving a great view of downtown Miami.
Here's Peter posing at Home Plate!  Ben actually bought a 20 game package along the first base line....I already called the two games against the Braves and the one game against the Reds!!!  Should be fun!

Light the Night 2011

We participated in The Light the Night Walk again this year to raise funds in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year, thanks to everyone's very generous donations, we raised $1350!!
I had a great team to walk with this year...Travis, Diego, Laura and Ben all helped raise money and walked with me.  As usual, they had great food (the ice cream is the best!!) and activities before the walk and.....
an awesome fireworks show!! Five years ago, my mom lost her battle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and this was a great way to honor her and everyone else who is or has battled any type of blood cancer.  Let's hope that one day, we will be able to celebrate the end of this disease!!

Halloween 2011

In honor of my trip to Oktoberfest last year in Munich, I decided to dress as a Bavarian bar maid for Halloween this year!
The weather was less than perfect for going out, but I had just spent 10 days in the DR and I was excited to wear my costume!!
I met up with Ben and Paul to head over to a friend's party.  Can you guess what they are??
Here's Andrew, Dan, Lyza, me and Sylvia..
I think that Jenn and Remy had the best costumes of the night...a jellyfish and a lantern fish!!
Here's Jenn after we discovered the glow sticks!!
Lots of fun regardless of the weather!!!
